In REEFSCAPE presented by HAAS, teams will use their engineering skills to strengthen one of the ocean’s most diverse habitats. Alliances compete to earn points by harvesting algae, seeding coral on their reefs, and returning to their barge to ascend to the ocean’s surface.

Crescendo
In CRESCENDO presented by Haas, two competing alliances are invited to score notes, amplify their speaker,
harmonize onstage, and take the spotlight before time runs out. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.

2022 – 2023
Charged Up!
In “Charged Up!” teams had to take cones and cubes across the field in a fast-paced challenge to fill their alliance grids. During the endgame, alliances had to attempt to balance their robots on the charge station to achieve bonus points.

Rapid React
In “Rapid React” teams had to pick up oversized tennis balls from around the field and shoot them into a large central hub. At the end of the game teams had to climb 4 rungs to achieve a hangar bonus!

2019 – 2020
Infinite Recharge
The year the world halted, “Infinite Recharge” was meant to be a game where teams collected gator balls dubbed “Power Cells.” During the endgame, robots had to hang on to a teeter-tottering bar. Though the game was played in the off season, the main season was suspended after Week 2 of competitions. Team 469 was scheduled to compete in Week 3.

2018 – 2019
Destination: Deep Space
In “Destination: Deep Space” began the game’s initial period without seeing their robot, whether that meant going fully autonomous or controlling the robot with a camera to see. Team objectives were to place cargo into rockets and close hatch panels to make sure the cargo stayed in place. During the endgame, teams had to place their robots onto platforms as they returned home from “Deep Space.”

2017 – 2018
FIRST Power Up
In “FIRST Power Up” teams tried to keep scales and switches flipped to their alliance’s side. To gain points over time, teams continued depositing cubes to weigh them down. Additional human player strategy involved trading in cubes for power-ups to help the alliance gain an advantage against their opponents.
